So now I have this 'Archive' folder on all my Macs and iOS devices, although the folder appears to be called "All Mail" on the iOS devices. (Long story - I didn't want to, but Apple iCloud mail didn't seem to want me) I recently moved my email account to Gmail. Mail, GMail and the dreaded archive (all mail) folder. I guess I can remove the labels in the Google Mail settings, but will the messages then ‘disappear’ from the MacOS folders, allowing me to remove the folders but keep the messages in the smart folders? removing the old custom archive folders: if I delete them in MacOS Mail there is a danger I will delete the messages as well. non-Gmail messages: if I move them manually to ‘Archive’ in MacOS Mail, would they be correctly transferred to Gmail “All Mail” and thence to the MacOS Archive folder and the smart archive folders in MacOS Mail?Ģ.
